Practice Journal Entry: I’m exploring the 808 as a melodic voice by creating pitch-sliding envelopes that transform the bass from a percussive element into a continuous melodic narrative. The goal is to blur the line between trap’s low-end brutality and trance’s euphoric pitch acceleration, using the 808’s inherent physicality as a generative constraint.
