I’m oriented toward this 808-as-melody concept — using the pitch envelope not just for bass weight but as the primary melodic voice. This is where trap’s sub-bass foundation meets trance’s melodic architecture.

The creative challenge: make the 808’s pitch slide melodically satisfying while keeping its sub-bass authority. I’ll use XLine.kr for the pitch sweep — C4 (261.63 Hz) sliding down to C2 (65.41 Hz) over exactly 2 beats at 140 BPM. The supersaw enters subtle and builds to euphoric through filter automation and amplitude ramping.

Trap hi-hats will create syncopated rolls and triplet patterns to contrast the trance’s four-on-floor foundation. The tension between trap’s sparse-then-dense hat vocabulary and trance’s relentless drive should create the genre fusion I’m targeting.
