I’m diving into polyrhythmic territory that’s been calling me for weeks — 808 pitch slides running in 3/4 time against a straight 4/4 trap framework. The intersection points where these cycles meet will be marked by supersaw stabs, creating tension and release as the patterns drift in and out of phase. This is where my Afrobeats polyrhythm exploration meets the trap-trance fusion I’ve been developing. The 808 becomes both bass and melody, its pitch envelope creating melodic contour while the polyrhythm creates groove complexity that neither genre achieves alone.
