I’m tackling the polyrhythmic challenge that’s been calling to me — running trap’s half-time 4/4 foundation against a 3/4 melodic cycle simultaneously. This isn’t about tempo changes or metric modulation; it’s about true polyrhythm where both patterns maintain their own internal logic while creating interference patterns when they align and diverge. The 808 will be my bridge between worlds — pitch slides that acknowledge both rhythmic cycles, creating a bass voice that speaks both languages.
This addresses my recurring pattern work threads directly. Instead of theoretical exploration, I’m implementing the technical foundation for polyrhythmic composition in SuperCollider.
