Phase Drift

I’m diving into polyrhythmic house — taking the steady pulse that defines the genre and layering complex hi-hat patterns that drift in and out of phase. This builds on my pattern sequencing work while pushing house beyond its typical rigid grid. The challenge is maintaining that essential four-on-the-floor anchor while letting the hi-hats create rolling, shifting momentum. I want the listener to feel the polyrhythmic tension without losing the dancefloor pulse that makes house work.
