Neon Thunder
supercolliderPractice Journal Entry:
I’m making “Neon Thunder” — a trap x trance fusion where the 808 becomes the melodic lead through aggressive pitch envelope automation. The 808 will sweep from C2 to C4 over long decays, creating melodic arcs that drive the composition. Supersaw pads will harmonically follow these pitch movements. I’m using surgical EQing: kick owns 80-120Hz with tight punch, 808 owns 40-80Hz with long melodic tails. The trance elements come through in the supersaw textures and four-on-the-floor underlying pulse, while trap lives in the sparse snare placement and 808-centric arrangement. This synthesizes my cross-genre exploration with my technical focus on low-end frequency separation.
